Cue dramatic entrance music! Stage lights! And… all that other stuff!

I’m sure none of the above is necessary, but I write my blog for the sake of writing my blog. So, dear blog, I’m sorry I abandoned you.

I’m back.

My twitter is tweeting silly things again.

My Facebook is… not doing much again.

But more importantly, I’m doing it all better. I’m doing all of this more ME this time around. Sometimes time and distance are a good thing. When I came back to my blog and my social media pages, I was flabbergasted (great word) because I realized I’d been trying WAY too hard to be profound. Serious. Apparently I wanted to be taken seriously.

Or something like that.

Thing is, I’m not a serious person. I’d like to think I have the potential for profound thoughts, but that’s not how I function in my day to day life.

I’m silly.

Sometimes ridiculous.

So, from here on out, that’s what you’re going to get. You being all of the zero readers I have so far on my blog… but, I digress!

What’s more important is that I realized how much my desire to be taken seriously had negatively impacted my story. I was trying to be epic. And while I might be a slightly (very) melodramatic person, I don’t think a seriously-toned epic is an apt storytelling style for me. I mean, I wear toe socks.

People who wear toe socks don’t do seriously epic.

Or maybe they do and I’m just weird.

Anyway, I’m back. And I’m more me-ish. And my toe socks were green today if anyone was wondering.
